Starting with just 06 study centres in 2005, the Regional Centre has grown into a huge network of 74 Learner Support Centres.
1. Short Term Need Based Programme
IGNOU Regional Centre, Jabalpur conducted need based Short Term Courses during 2007-2008. There were 2 short term training programmes of one month duration namely
- Short Term training programme in Personality Development and
- Short Term Training Programme in Research Methodology.
Prominent academicians acted as resource persons in these programmes.
2. Mobile Centre
IGNOU Regional Centre, Jabalpur took initiatives to launch a pilot project of Mobile Study Centre for enhancing the reach of student support services. It was initially started for the Baiga Tribes of Dindori which is one of the most disadvantaged tribal district of our region. The project was a huge success and subsequently, IGNOU notified the scheme of Mobile Study Centre based on the learning experiences of this project. Pilot project was operationalised in 2008 in rural interiors (around 80 Km from Dindori District HQrs.). . Subsequently, scheme was replicated for the rural outskirts of Jabalpur city.
3. Rajiv Gandhi Edusat Supported Project for Elementary Education (RGPEEE)
IGNOU Regional Centre, Jabalpur initiated an innovative satellite based project named as “Rajiv Gandhi Project for Edusat Supported Elementary Education (RGPEEE)” under which a hub was established in 2005 at Jabalpur and network of ROTs / SITs in 07 Hindi speaking States for strengthening of school education. The project has significantly contributed for strengthening of school education.
